The renovated teak- townhouse on the banks of the Chaophraya River has only 6 (!) rooms, each designed and styled differently.

And if you have been looking for a real “riverside”- location...well...I guess, it doesn't get more “riverside” than this, with parts of the building on stilts, practically floating on the river.
Also in other aspects, the location is nothing less but prime: The exciting and busy markets of Chinatown are close by, you can do canal- or river-trips with ease and whatever is concerned as the “center” of Bangkok (in this case Siam Square, Silom Road or Khao Sarn) is mostly not more than 3 kilometers away.
Location is good, setting is nice- what about the hotel itself?
“Hard to describe” comes to mind, with 6 rooms, all different in decoration. But all have a homely, antique'ish and very “asian” feeling to them. There is lots of wood all around, the colors are warm and the amenities and facilities are those of a full grown hotel.
Loy La Long Hotel - Suite RiverviewSizes range from typical, cozy and romantic rooms for 2 to a small dormitory or family room, for 4 persons. Four of the rooms have direct river- view, some through floor-to-ceiling-panoramic windows, for the other guests, there is a huge terrace, where you can watch the river life from dawn to dusk or have a friendly drink with the neighbors at night-time, when the lights of the city turn the river into an ocean of colors.
The Loy LaLong Hotel is unique in so many ways: the setting, the cuddle- factor, the atmosphere. You will find it rather difficult, to find a hotel like this in Thailand...but for sure: in Bangkok!
